Silchar : A Burmese python was rescued from the Irongmara area in the Cachar district on Saturday. Young herpetologist and environment enthusiast Trikal Chakraborty said he had received a call from the people of the area about the snake that has entered the area, and accordingly, he went their to rescue the reptile.
“I got a call from a resident of the Irongmara area about a huge snake. When I reached the spot accompanied by the forest officials, including the Beat Officer of Loharbond, I found to my surprise that the reptile was a Burmese Python.” Chakraborty said, adding, “We rescued the snake and released it in the inner line reserve forest. Today is World Snake Day and we are thankful to Cachar DFO Tejas Mariswamy for the support and also to the villagers who helped us rescue the snake.”
