Cachar admin introduces yoga sessions, recreational program for inmates in silchar;DDMA publishes daily flood report.

Janasanyog: SILCHAR, July 12: In a significant initiative, on Tuesday,Cachar administration organised a Yoga session for inmates in relief camp at Govt. Girls HS School, Silchar where “Aapda mitra volunteers” demonstrated different yoga postures to the inmates for their mental and physical health.

Sanitisation process was also carried out in different relief camps on the day with the help of Silchar Municipality board along with aapada mitra volunteers of Silchar Sadar in addition to that recreational activities were also arranged for the flood affected people sheltered at different relief camps.

Cleaning of garbage and sanitization was also carried out in Radha Madhab Road, Ashram Road and other parts of silchar municipal areas where Silchar legislator Dipayan Chakrabarty inspected the work of garbage removal.

Meanwhile, a total of 78 villages have been affected till 4 pm on July 12, out of which a total of168129 people have been affected out which 48234 people in Katigorah, 1188010 in silchar and 1085 people are in Lakhipur revenue circle.

Reportedly,a total of 17,075 people took shelter in 53 relief camps in the district, of which 1,572 are in 20 relief camps in Katigorah, 15,443 in 32 relief camps in Silchar and 60 inmates in 1 relief camp in Lakhipur.
