Senior official visits flood hit areas

Nilambazar : Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, CEO of SDMA and commissioner of Revenue and Border Protection and Development, visited several flood-hit areas along theke Indo-Bangla border or Karimganj to assess the damage caused by the recent floods and to stock of relief measures and border issues.

Tripathi visited the river bank of Mural Para and Krishnapur, which were badly affected by recent floods by Barak river under the Badarpur Revenue Circle. He also visited Kaliganj, Ratanpur and Tinghari villages.

Later, Tripathi along with BSF officials and senior officials of the district administration visited the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj. He interacted with the people at Lafashail and Chansrikuna. He directed the district administration tor better border management so that theke people can reap the benefits.

The Commissioner Secretary also held a review meeting with the district administration and other department heads at the DC’s conference hall.

It may be mentioned here that 8 people drowned in the district in the recent wave or flood.
