Patherkandi shop gutted in fire

Patherkandi : A blaze broke out and took a shop into its clutches in Patherkandi in Karimganj district on Wednesday.

As per reports, the incident took place near Patherkandi co-operative society in the wee hours of Wednesday when a fire broke out and destroyed the stationery shop of a person Dilip Nath.

Local residents said they saw flame and thick smoke billowing out of the shutter of the shop on Wednesday morning when they were out for a walk. The fire brigade department was informed following which a team of firefighters reached the spot and doused the fire with the help of local people. The total amount of loss was estimated to over ₹5 lakh.
