Former Assam Police ASI Tarinimohan Das Drowns in Cachar Floodwaters, Search Ongoing

A former Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Assam Police, 64-year-old Tarinimohan Das, drowned while bathing in floodwaters in Borkhola, Cachar district. The incident occurred on Sunday morning when Das, who has a wife, two daughters, and two sons, boarded a boat around 9:30 am. His daughter noticed the boat was unattended and reported him missing. Despite a search operation by local residents, Assam Police, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, Das remains unlocated. The search continues.
