MLA Kamalakhya vents fury over Karimganj hospital’s poor condition

Karimganj : Congress legislator Kamalakhya Dey Purkasthya, on Tuesday, expressed his dissatisfaction over the poor condition of a model hospital in Karimganj district’s Girishganj area.

MLA Kamalakhya, who is the chairman of the hospital, visited the health facility on Tuesday morning to inquire about its overall infrastructure.

He interacted with patients who alleged that the hospital is not functioning properly. The patient told him that people have to wait in queues for hours for getting various formalities regarding their treatment at the hospital. Doctors and other staff do not come regularly and this is resulting in problems for people, the patient alleged and urged the MLA for necessary action.

Talking to media, the MLA said he inspected the hospital and found that people’s allegations to be true. He will hold a meeting soon with the hospital authority so that the issues are resolved, the MLA said.

Girishganj model hospital in-charge Supriyo Roy discussed the allegations labelled by patients and claimed all the doctors of the hospital are performing their duties regularly.
