Son kills mother at Sribhumi Civil Hospital

SRIBHUMI: A horrifying incident has shaken Sribhumi after a man allegedly stran gled his mother to death inside the Sribhumi Civil Hospital on Saturday. The accused, identified as San-jiv Sinha, has been arrest ed in connection with the incident.
According to reports, the victim, 60-year-old Rajkumari Sinha of Naluwa village under the Patharkandi constituency in Sribhumi district, was admitted to the hospital by her son on Friday night around 9 p.m. She had. undergone preliminary medical examination, and doctors had reportedly found no major complica tions, advising a blood test for further diagnosis.
However, the situation took a grim turn late Friday night when, according to hospital staff, Sanjiv allegedly beat and strangled his mother on the hospital bed. Nurses reportedly found Rajkumari lying on the floor and immediately called for medical help. The attending doctor examined her and declared her dead on the spot.
The hospital authorities subsequently informed Sribhumi Sadar Police Station, following which officers reached the scene and apprehended Sanjiv Sinha from the hospital premises. The motive behind the act remains unclear.
The body of the deceased has been kept at the govern-ment hospital for post-mor tem examination, which is expected to reveal further details. The shocking inci dent has left residents across Sribhumi district in disbe lief and mourning.
