Students’ Union expresses concern over hike in fees, admission issues
Karimganj : The students’ union at Karimganj College submitted a memorandum to Assam education minister to Dr. Ranoj Pegu (through Karimganj District Commissioner) on Tuesday, expressing concerns over several issues affecting students.
The union demanded a reduction in fees for undergraduate courses, streamlining of income certificate issuance, and an increase in seat capacity at the college. The students are concerned about the financial burden caused by the recent fee hike, server errors and administrative delays in obtaining income certificates, and the limited seat availability at the college.
The union urged to address these issues promptly, warning of democratic protests if their demands are not met soon. The students said that affordable education and adequate facilities are crucial for the development and progress of Assam. Union vice president Shivam Dutta, general secretary Sushmit Dev, Kamil Ahmed, Bikram Shil, Sabir Hussain and others were present.
