Vandalism Hits Silchar Medical College Dialysis Centre, 9 Machines Damaged

Silchar, August 11 – Unidentified miscreants vandalized the dialysis centre of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) on Sunday night, causing significant damage to equipment and disrupting treatment.Dr. Bhaskar Gupta Principal cum Chief Superintendent of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, said some miscreants broke into the dialysis wing of the hospital and intentionally wreaked havoc. 9 out of 14 dialysis machines (imported from Germany) completely damaged.

The senior in charge also mentioned that over 30 patients visit the dialysis centre daily and now will have to visit private centres as these machines come from Germany and are hard to repair or replace.
