Youth killed in lightning strike

Patherkandi : In a tragic incident, a 25 year old youth was killed after being struck by lightning in Salgai under Bazaricheera police station in Karimganj district on Friday.

The deceased Shyamcharan Keot was the son of Laxmicharan Keot, a resident of Salgai.

As per reports, Shyamcharan, who worked in Bengaluru and had come to his native place around one mounth ago to attend his sister’s weeding, was struck by lightning at his house in Salgai around 6:30 AM on Friday.

After being struck by lightning, he fell unconscious following which was rushed to a local hospital from where he was about to be shifted to karimganj civil hospital. His body was later taken for autopsy in the presence of police. The body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem
