4 Arrested in Brutal Murder of Child in Dwarbond; Land Dispute Suspected

Silchar, August 13 — In a shocking update to the recent child murder case in Dwarbond, Cachar Police have detained four people, including a woman, in connection with the brutal killing of eight-year-old Debjit Ree, son of Dilip Ree, in Dwarbond’s Paloi Tea Estate.

On Monday evening, following an intensive investigation, police detained Jayprakash Keot, Amit Kumar, Ratan Bauri, and Ronju Bauri, who are allegedly linked to the crime.

The child went missing around noon on Sunday, August 10, and was later found beheaded in a forested area close to his home, sparking widespread outrage in the locality.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have assured further arrests if more suspects are identified.
