Accountant arrested on graft charge; ₹6.5 lakh recovered
Guwahati : Sleuths of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate arrested an accountant of the public health engineering (PHE) department from Upper Assam’s Bokakhat town on a graft charge on Thursday.
The accountant Pulin Saikia demanded Rs.50,000 as a bribe from the contractor for releasing running bill for his contract works regarding Jal Jeevan Mission at Bokakhat PHE Division.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the the taking necessary legal action against Saikia.
