Devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria; India’s Operation Dost – a true friendship

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, India launched Operation Dost, an earthquake relief center program that sends massive amounts of humanitarian aid to affected countries.
Also, as part of this operation, assistance was provided in search and rescue operations in Turkey and Syria, where more than 46,000 people have already died due to deadly earthquakes.

To help those affected by the natural disaster, the Government of India extends a hand of friendship to both countries: Indian rescue professionals flew down to both nations with life-supporting equipment, medical aid and sniffer dogs, and carried out their operations for nearly 10 days saved lives and provided support to people in a critical situation.
“Operation Dost is an example of India’s dedication to humanity and our commitment to stand by nations in distress. We have always been the first responder to any calamity in any part of the world,” said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
