New Milestones in Healthcare: Barak Valley’s Medical Facilities Get Major Boost

Silchar, 21 Aug: Barak Valley is witnessing a new dawn of development as robust medical facilities are being established, ushering in transformative healthcare for the region. Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) is at the center of these advancements, with a new 500-bedded block currently under development aimed at expanding capacity and improving patient care.

The initiative also brings MRI facilities to all civil hospitals across Barak Valley, ensuring that advanced diagnostic capabilities are accessible to residents throughout the area. Additionally, the roadmap includes the creation of Sribhumi Medical College, complemented by improved road connectivity to facilitate smoother access for medical professionals and patients alike.Another significant development is the construction of a new district hospital at Lakhipur, expanding comprehensive healthcare services to underserved populations.

These projects, highlighted by the Assam government, underscore a commitment to strengthening the medical infrastructure in Barak Valley and providing high-quality healthcare to all citizens.
